Punjab: NRI brutally murdered with sharp-edged weapon in Ludhiana; personal enmity suspected
Ludhiana, July 18: Ludhiana was shaken by the alleged murder of a 42-year-old NRI man on Monday night as he was returning home on his motorcycle in Thakur Colony.
The victim has been identified as Barindar Singh, aged 42. According to ASI Ravinder Kumar, in-charge of the Lalton police post, Barindar Singh, accompanied by his servant, was en route from a farmhouse to his residence in Lalton Kalan when two individuals on motorcycles intercepted them.
The assailants had their faces covered and reportedly launched a vicious attack on the NRI using sharp-edged weapons. Barindar Singh was swiftly rushed to DMC Hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. The servant also sustained injuries during the incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the murder might be the result of personal enmity. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover the motives and identify those responsible for the heinous crime.
