'Habibi, come to Noida': Rainy bliss in Noida, traffic stress in Gurgaon; viral video winning hearts
PTC Web Desk: Heavy rainfall lashed Delhi-NCR on Monday, crippling daily life and leaving thousands of commuters stranded for hours. Gurgaon bore the brunt of the downpour, with severe waterlogging across prime localities and traffic snarls stretching for miles. Visuals of a massive gridlock on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway quickly went viral, showing vehicles stuck bumper-to-bumper as frustrated commuters reported being stranded in traffic for up to six hours.
In stark contrast, Noida appeared to weather the rain more efficiently. Despite intermittent showers through the day, traffic movement remained relatively smooth. Several social media users highlighted the difference between the two cities, sparking yet another round of the “Noida vs Gurgaon” debate online.
A Noida-based content creator shared a video captioned: “Rainy bliss in Noida, traffic stress in Gurgaon – the choice is clear. That’s why I say… Habibi, come to Noida.” The clip quickly gained traction, echoing the sentiment of many commuters.
This isn’t the first time Gurgaon’s rain woes have been compared to Noida’s better-planned infrastructure. On August 24, after another spell of heavy showers, users on X had similarly praised Noida for cleaner, wider roads and better drainage. “Hate to admit but Noida roads are way more organised than Gurgaon, and only a few areas faced waterlogging,” one commuter posted.
