PTC Web Desk: Industrialist Gautam Adani’s son, Jeet Adani, and his fiancée, Diva Jaimin Shah, have announced a noble initiative ahead of their wedding on February 7. The couple has pledged to contribute Rs 10 lakh each towards the weddings of 500 women with disabilities annually.

Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), Gautam Adani expressed his pride in their decision, stating, “Jeet and Diva have chosen to begin their married life with a ‘Mangal Seva’ pledge. Their commitment to supporting 500 Divyang sisters every year brings me immense joy. I believe this initiative will empower many families and provide dignity to these daughters.”

To mark the beginning of this initiative, Jeet Adani met 21 newlywed women with disabilities and their husbands. Jeet Adani, 27, joined the Adani Group in 2019 and currently serves as the Director of Adani Airport Holdings, India’s leading airport infrastructure company managing eight airports. An alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, he also oversees the group’s defence, petrochemicals, and copper divisions while leading its digital transformation.

Passionate about empowering persons with disabilities, Jeet Adani recently proposed a special episode on Shark Tank India focused on entrepreneurs with disabilities. The idea, supported by Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal, led to the announcement of a "Divyang Special" episode. During the show, Jeet revealed that the Adani Group has set a mandate to ensure at least 5% of its workforce comprises persons with disabilities.

Speaking about what inspired him, Jeet recalled his visit to Mitti Cafe, a social enterprise employing persons with disabilities. “During the opening of Mitti Cafe at Mumbai International Airport, I was deeply moved by the enthusiasm, resilience, and warmth of the staff despite their challenges,” he shared.

Jeet Adani draws inspiration from his mother, Priti Adani, who transformed the Adani Foundation from a small rural project in Mundra, Gujarat, into a major force for social change.

With this initiative, Jeet and Diva aim to continue this legacy by making a lasting impact on the lives of underprivileged women with disabilities in India.
