Lucknow, February 22: A day ahead of the fourth phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Law Minister Brajesh Pathak said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is moving towards a thumping majority in the state.

While talking to media on Tuesday, the state Minister said the BJP has "progressed rapidly in every round of last three-phase elections in Uttar Pradesh. It's going to break the record of the last polls in 2017". The fourth phase of Assembly polls in the state is slated for February 23. "The BJP is moving towards a thumping majority and there is no problem anywhere... And the dreams of Opposition parties will turn to dust," he added. Pathak further accused the Opposition parties of taking support of goons and mafias in order to grab power in the state. 'BJP to win with thumping majority in UP' "The Opposition parties are trying to grab power with the support of goons and the mafia, which the people of Uttar Pradesh will not accept," he stated. "There is a gang whose dream of rising to power will never be realised," he continued. When questioned if people had higher expectations than the state government bulldozing goons' houses, he stated that the PM Modi-led government has ensured all-round development. "Uttar Pradesh has the largest number of expressways. In each district, schools and institutions are being built. We've built AIIMS, airports, and metros. We have provided people with free rations twice a month "he asserted.

'BJP to win with thumping majority in UP' "Toilets have been installed in 12 crore homes, and 45 lakh homeless people have been given new homes. We've connected 1.18 million people to the electricity network," Pathak stated. The Minister, who is running for the Lucknow Cantonment seat, claims that the BJP government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has completed many developmental projects. Further, in response to Prime Minister Modi's Sunday attack on the Samajwadi Party, the Minister said "The fact that bombs were placed inside pressure cookers on cycles is not a secret. These explosions also occurred in Ayodhya, Kashi, and Lucknow." "When the party formed the government in 2012, it took its first step to dismiss the cases registered against persons accused in bomb blasts," Pathak said while taking swipe at the SP. Three phases of the seven-phase UP Assembly elections have been completed. Polling for the remaining phases will take place on February 23, February 27, March 3 and March 7.
