Dehradun (Uttarakhand), February 22: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday mocked Congress and claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win the Assembly elections with a full majority.

The senior BJP leader was responding to former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat's claim of winning over 48 seats in the state Assembly elections due to strong anti-incumbency against the ruling BJP. "We will get more than 48 seats in the state Assembly polls," Rawat asserted on Monday as he responded to a question regarding Congress' chances of forming government in the state. 'BJP will retain power in Uttarakhand' Meanwhile, incumbent CM of the state, Dhami on Tuesday said, "They (Congress) will not win the Assembly elections. The BJP will win with a full majority in the state." 'BJP will retain power in Uttarakhand' The polling for the 70-member state Assembly took place on February 14. The counting of votes will be held on March 10. A total of 65.37 percent voter turnout was recorded in the state, among which women voted 67.20 percent and men have voted 62.60 percent. The state assembly election had a total of 81,72,173 general and 94,471 service voters, according to the State Chief Electoral Officer. 'BJP will retain power in Uttarakhand' Out of the total electorate, 53,42,462 voters cast votes, accounting for 65.37 percent of the total electorate. The voter turnout was 0.19 percent lower this year than in the 2017 assembly elections. In 2017, 65.56 percent of eligible voters cast their franchise.
