US Court sentences Chinese student 1 year in prison for taking pictures of restricted US Naval Base

A Chinese student was sentenced to undergo one-year imprisonment in the federal prison in Florida on Wednesday for taking illegal pictures of restricted US Naval Base. According to the media, the convict, Zhao Qianli (20) pleaded guilty for taking pictures at a key United States defence intelligence facility without permission in Florida.

The federal judge in Florida awarded the convict the maximum sentence for clicking pictures of US naval base.

According to media, Zhao Qianli entered the Joint Interagency Task Force South military property in Florida last September. He entered the military property without permission by travelling all the way around from the beach.

The court does not have any proof as to whether the student was attempting to spy or working as an informant.
