Woman allegedly killed for dowry in Muzaffarnagar
Dowry deaths are reported very rarely these days. Although it is not clear that if the number of cases has decreased or media has lost interest in it. This is one such story which has again reminded us of the evil that has inflicted our society for a long time.
A 22-year-old woman was allegedly killed for dowry on Friday in Muzaffarnagar. The woman was strangulated to death by her husband following a dispute over dowry. The victim, Sonali, was married to Ajit(22) for three years. She was allegedly being harassed by her in-laws for not bringing enough dowry.
Following which, the body was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in Behda Sadat village. The victim’s father lodged a complaint saying that her in-laws killed her and made it look like a suicide. The police arrested Ajit and a case was registered against him.

However, the husband and his family refuted all the allegations. They all claimed that Sonali ended her life over a family dispute.
