Former Pak PM Imran Khan, Bilawal Bhutto's 'X' account suspended in India amid Pahalgam fallout
PTC News Desk: The X accounts of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto have been blocked in India amid rising tensions between the two countries.
A screenshot of the X (formerly Twitter) accounts of Imran Khan and Bilawal Bhutto revealed that their profiles had been withheld in India following a legal request. Both politicians’ accounts displayed blank profile and cover images.
This development came a day after Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ataullah Tarar, had his X account blocked in India. His account was restricted shortly after he claimed that Islamabad possessed "credible intelligence" indicating that New Delhi might launch a military strike on Pakistan within 24 to 36 hours, in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
The accounts have been blocked after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed after gunmen from The Resistance Force (TRF), a proxy of the banned Pakistani terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), opened fire on the public.
In addition to restricting the X accounts of several Pakistani political figures, India also blocked Instagram accounts belonging to various Pakistani actors, including Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan.
