'Osama Bin Laden in suit': Ex-Pentagon official's scathing attack on Pak Army Chief Asim Munir

PTC News Desk: Amid Pakistan's growing closeness with the United States, a former Pentagon analyst Michael Rubin has launched a scathing attack on the former's Army Chief Asim Munir, calling him 'Osama Bin Laden in suit'.

The remarks follow Pak Army Chief's blatant threats to India and his nation's nuclear rhetoric. Rubin further slammed Pakistan for behaving like a rogue state and said that country's behaviour is totally unacceptable.

"Asim Munir is Osama Bin Laden in a suit and there will be no amount of concession that will be given to Pakistan that is going to change his ideology or the Pakistani elite he represents," he said.

"The fact that Pakistan is threatening half of the world with nuclear weapons is a clear indication that it has lost its right to be a legitimate state. It is time for the US... to consider other policies... It is near times when the future administrations should enter Pakistan to secure its nuclear weapons because the alternative is simply too great to bear," he further added.

Recently, Pakistan's army chief General Asim Munir reportedly made a controversial statement during his visit to the United States, warning that if Pakistan ever faced an existential threat from India, it would be willing to “take half the world down” with it.

In response, India issued a sharp rebuttal to Asim Munir's remarks terming them an example of “nuclear sabre-rattling.”

In a statement, the MEA said the comments reflected the “irresponsibility” of Pakistan’s military leadership and reinforced global concerns over the integrity of its nuclear command and control—particularly in a country where the armed forces are “hand-in-glove with terrorist groups.”
