Tarn Taran: Young married couple shot dead, mowed down by woman's relatives
Tarn Taran: In suspected case of honour killing, a newly married couple was shot dead in a broad daylight in the middle of a road in Naushera Dhalla village in Punjab on Sunday. As per the information, the relatives of the woman obstructed the couple in the middle of the road when they were on a motorcycle and opened fire on them. Meanwhile, the couple succumbed to injuries. The couple has been identified as Amanpreet Kaur, 23, married to Amandeep Singh, 24, of the same village. As per reports, they got married against the wishes of the woman’s family, four months ago. Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt to catch the relatives of woman who are booked for murder and other charges. The incident took place after the couple was returning home after offering prayers at Gurudwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib Thatha, when the woman’s relatives knocked them down. This is the second incident from the Naushera Dhalla village in the past year. Recently, the three members of the boy’s family were killed by the girl’s relatives, last month.
