The Haryana government has been criticised for mismanaging the crisis and allowing at least 1.5 lakh followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, the sect headed by Ram Rahim, to gather at Panchkula for the verdict, despite a ban on as per Section Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma has been bashed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court for giving a grant of Rs 51 lakh to the Dera recently. While the Punjab and Haryana High Court slammed Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar for shielding the dera followers and extending Political backing. The state had misguided the court by furnishing wrong information on the number of vehicles in the convoy. The court has asked for the name of the officer who provided the information to the AG. The Bench comprising Justices SS Saron, Surya Kant and Avneesh Jhingan has directed the Deputy Commissioners of Punjab and Haryana to provide it a list of Dera properties. A status report on the deaths in the violence has also been sought The state was also asked to inform the Bench about any plans to sanitise the Dera Sacha Sauda The Bench said there was a huge difference between the administrative and political decisions because of political considerations The state has been asked to verify a report carried in a vernacular regarding instigation by the Dera leaders. The Bench directed the registration of an FIR against the instigators if the reporter stood by his report. -PTC News
