Jaggi remanded to police custody in another case till January 22 : National Investigative Agency took away the remand of the Scottish resident Jagtar Singh Jaggi in another case today. Acting quietly, NIA produced Jaggi In the court of Additional Sessions Judge Sanjay Agnihotri as the special Judge of NIA , ASJ-I ,Anshul Berry was on leave. The court has remanded Jaggi to police remand till January 22.
According to the information the lawyers of Jaggi could not make any representation in the court on Jaggi’s behalf today. Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that Jaggi was produced before Judge without his knowledge. The lawyer said that NIA had not intimated him before producing Jaggi in the court at Mohali and he came to know about it afterwards that police had taken police remand of Jaggi.
The Lawyer said that he was not aware of Jaggi being brought out from the Nabha Jail and that police had produced him before the ASJ, Mohali. He said NIA did intimate him of any proceeding that took place today. That was the reason, the lawyers could not make any representation, he added.
Jagtar Singh Jaggi, a Scottish resident came to Jallandhar in Punjab to get married when he was picked up by the police on November 4. It is to be mentioned that Jaggi had been booked by Punjab police in various cases in Punjab and later all those cases were handed over to NIA.
