Justice Krishna Murari to be Punjab and Haryana HC Chief Justice A senior judge of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Krishna Murari, is all set to now be the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. His name has been cleared for elevation as the Chief Justice. The same shall be announced through a formal notification soon. Justice Murari will take over from Chief Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar, who retires early next month. Justice Murari’s understanding and deep appreciation of the judicial system has been honed over a long career as a practising lawyer and as a High Court judge. Justice Murari belongs to a family of lawyers. His uncle GN Verma was a senior advocate and a leading lawyer on the civil constitutional and revenue side. Justice Murari was known for his practice on the civil side and was considered proficient in company matters and consolidation cases. Born on July 9, 1958, Justice Murari was elevated as an Additional Judge on January 7, 2004 and took oath as a Permanent Judge on August 18, 2005. -PTC News
