Office of Profit case: 20 AAP MLAs withdraw their pleas against disqualification
In the office of Profit case, 20 AAP MLAs withdrew their applications seeking a stay on ECI recommendations over their disqualification.
AAP MLAs counsel told Delhi HC that he will file an appeal after examining President's order disqualifying 20 MLAs.
Delhi High Court was hearing AAP’s plea seeking a relief against the MLAs’ disqualification, who were disqualified for holding the office of profit.
Last week, the Election Commission wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind seeking disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs in the office of Profit case. The list of 20 disqualified legislators include prominent names, like Najafgarh legislator Kailash Gahlot who is also Delhi Transport Minister, Chandni Chowk legislator Alka Lamba, Burari legislator Sanjeev Jha, Kalkaji legislator Avtar Singh and Narela legislator Sharad Kumar.
