Breaking News : Australia retains Sultan of Johor Hockey Title

Defending champions Australia retained the Sultan of Johor Hockey title defeating the only unbeaten team, Great Britain, by two first-half goals in Malaysia today. Earlier, India beat the hosts Malaysia to win the bronze medal. Dilpreet Singh of India with nine goals became the top scorer of the tournament. Australia had lost to Great Britain in the earlier round-robin league matches. With this 2-0 win, Australia has become the only second team after India to win the Sultan of Johor tournament twice.Defending champions Australia retained the Sultan of Johor Hockey titleGreat Britain, who were pre-tournament favourites, was on the defensive as Australia mounted pressure and took the lead through a penalty corner conversion in the first quarter. The Aussies consolidated the lead further in the second quarter with a field goal. Though Great Britain forced their only penalty corner a minute before the final whistle.
