10-ft long python rescued from bus depot at Raj Ghat A 10-foot long python was found under a Bus at a DTC depot in Delhi’s Raj Ghat. He has been rescued by a wildlife Conservation NGO said. The driver heard a hissing sound under the bus, when he was filling up his CNG at a pump. Wasim Akram, Manager Wildlife SOS Special Projects said that the Indian oython has been kept under observation and will be released back to its natural habitat. He further said that their organization has sent two rescuers from the NGO along with the necessary Snake rescue equipment. The situation was examined and after ensuring that the employees mainatined a safe distance from the bus, the rescuers then begin with the process to transfer the snake to a safe transport area. Kartick Satyanarayan, Co-Founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS said, “Finding a python in urban areas is not uncommon and this particular python might have wandered out of the small forest area behind Raj Ghat. Indian rock pythons are very often mistaken to be dangerous because of their size and face extreme threat due to prevalent misunderstanding and ignorance among public. Pythons are non-venomous and these reptiles often get killed when they venture into human surroundings." -PTC NEWS
