18th Asian Games: Indian Eves Run To Their Biggest Win In Hockey On a day when it rained goals in hockey, India women unleashed a cloudburst recording one of their biggest ever win in competitive hockey. Playing its second pool B match against Kazakhstan in the 18th Asian Games on Tuesday, India raced to a 21-0 win after leading 9-0 at the breather. Of  41 goals scored in four games on day three of the competition, India accounted for  21 goals in its game against Kazakhstan. Four of Indian players - Gurjit Kaur, Lalremsiami, Vandana Katariya and Navneet -  were credited with a hat trick of goals each as India raced to a massive win against hapless Kazakh girls. In other games decided today, Japan beat  Hong Kong  6-0, China defeated Taipei 9-0 and  Korea routed Indonesia 5-0. But the story of the day was provided by Indian girls recording their biggest ever win in the history of the game. They almost came within the grasp of the Olympic record, Indian men had set in Los Angeles by defeating the hosts USA 24-1 in 1932. Yesterday Indian men had beaten Indonesia 17-0  in pool A while Malaysia had beaten Kazakhstan 16-2 in a pool B game of men's hockey. Kazakhstan had beaten Thailand 3-1 in its opening game on day one and was expected to put up a good fight against India. However, Indian girls went on a scoring rampage and pumped in five goals in the first quarter, followed by four in the second. By the end of quarter III, India was leading 16-0. Five goals in the final quarter completed the splendid 21-0 tally for India. -PTC NEWS
