Watch World's tallest Ravana effigy in Panchkula on this Dussehra Tricity is all set to host its 210 feet tall Ravana at Shalimar Grounds in Sector 5 Panchkula on Dussehra. The Shalimar Grounds in Panchkula is the largest Dusshera ground in the Tricity. For safety purposes, a minimum of 240 feet radius has been kept vacant for the Ravana. Ravana’s face is made using glass fiber. Cloth worth 3000 meters is used to decorate its body. This amount of cloth was purchased from a tent house. The crown and footwear were created separately. Out of Rs 30 lakh, nearly Rs 5 lakh is spent on firecrackers. The Ravan would be completely burnt in 10 minutes. The effigy will weigh around 60 quintals. The engineers will help in setting the Ravan up-right. The process will be over by 14th October. Later, on 19th, the work on explosions will start.
