27-year-old youth pursuing CA charred to death in car fire
A 27-year-old youth was charred to death in a car fire on Tuesday afternoon in sector 23, Chandigarh. The incident took place after an LPG cylinder inside his Maruti Alto car went up in flames.
The deceased has been identified as Rohan Nayyar hailed from Chandigarh. He was pursuing CA. He was depressed because of a skin problem for which he was undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

According to media reports, Rohan left his house to give the cylinder to one of his friends. He parked his car in an open ground next to the government school near Sector 23/16 inner roundabout. Soon after that, the car caught fire. The passersby saw the car on fire. They tried to rescue Rohan who was sitting on the rear seat. They found the car locked from the inside. They saw the LPG cylinder lying inside the car. Soon after it, the blast took place blowing off its roof.
The police and Fire Department rushed to the spot after they received a call regarding the incident. The police cordoned off the area. The victim had died by the time the fire was brought down. The victim’s father, Harish Chand, a junior assistant with the Irrigation Department, Punjab, also reached the spot.
A team of Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh (CFSL) also reached the spot. The body has been shifted to the mortuary at Sector 16 Government Multi-Specialty Hospital. The body will be handed over to the family after conducting a post-mortem.
