6 terror suspects held from Pooja Express in Pathankot

In a joint operation, Kathua police and Punjab police detained six terror suspects from Pathankot station on Sunday travelling in Rajasthan bound Pooja Express. They were on their way to Ajmer from Jammu.

According to the sources, the J&K police received an intelligence input about the suspects on the train. Following which, the J&K Police spurred into action.

“By the time we reached Hatli Morh railway station, the train had already left. Therefore, we sought the help of Punjab Police,” a J&K Police officer said.  “Six men have been detained and are being questioned,” Punjab Police (Border Range) IG SS Parmar said.

The train was stopped for 65 minutes. The police requested the passengers not to panic.

After an hour-long search, the express was allowed to leave for New Delhi. The terror suspects were shifted to Pathankot Police station No. 2. They were being questioned there to ascertain their motive behind their visit to Rajasthan.
