After assurance, Punjab Roadways staff call off dharna
In a major development, the Punjab Roadways staff on Thursday announced to put off agitation following an assurance by Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring that their demands would be met.
The striking employees will now return to work. According to the information, Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring assured the employees that their demands would be fulfilled.

Now that the dharna has been called off, the buses in Punjab will start plying on the roads from Thursday.

Demanding regularisation of their jobs, nearly 8,200 contractual and outsourced employees of the state transport undertakings, including Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC), Punjab Roadways and PUNBUS, were on strike since December 7.
The commuters were left stranded with 90 percent of government buses not operating due to the strike.
