Former Union Minister and RLD Chief Ajit Singh passes away

Ajit Singh Coronavirus Death: Rashtriya Lok Dal President and former Union Minister, Chaudhary Ajit Singh, on Thursday, passed away due to COVID-19 at the age of 82, confirmed his son Jayant Chaudhary.

According to the information, Chaudhary Ajit Singh had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 20.

Ajit Singh Coronavirus Death: RLD President Chaudhary Ajit Singh passed away due to COVID-19 at the age of 82, confirmed his son.

Jayant Chaudhary, on Ajit Singh's death due to coronavirus, wrote: "Chaudhary Ajit Singh Ji was diagnosed as COVID+ on April 20. He battled his condition till the very end and breathed his last today morning, May 6, 2021."

Ajit Singh Coronavirus Death: RLD President Chaudhary Ajit Singh passed away due to COVID-19 at the age of 82, confirmed his son.

"Throughout his life journey, Chaudhary Sahib was loved and respected by many. He, in turn, cherished this bond with all of you and gave his best consideration and efforts for your welfare," he added.

"As our nation confronts the horrific pandemic, it is our humble request to all those who wish to pay their respects, to please stay at home as far as possible," he further wrote.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote: "The death of former Union Minister Chaudhary Ajit Singh Ji is extremely sad. He was always devoted to the interests of farmers. My condolences to his family in this hour of mourning. Om Shanti!"

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal said, "Saddened to hear about the demise of RLD chief & former union minister Ch. Ajit Singh Ji. A champion of farmer’s rights, Chaudhary Sahib fought various battles for the welfare of the country's 'annadata'. My condolences to Jayant, family and friends."
