It’s ringing wedding bells for Akash Ambani and his childhood friend Shloka Mehta later this year. The going-to-be Ambani Bahu, Shloka is the youngest daughter of Russell Mehta, owner of the Rosy Blue empire, one of the world's largest diamantaires.
In 2014, Shloka took over as the director at the Rosy Blue Foundation, the philanthropic arm of diamond manufacturing company Rosy Blue Group.
Shloka Mehta's brother, Viraj is married to Nisha Sheth, belonging to the Great Eastern Shipping family. Sister Diya married Ayush Jatia (son of Amit Jatia of Hardcastle Restaurants) last year.
The estimated net worth of Shloka Mehta is USD 18 million (about Rs 120 crore) as per Finapp report. Shloka Mehta has a fetish for some of the best cars in the country. Her fleet of cars includes a Mini Cooper, a Mercedes Benz and a Bentley.
She recently bought a brand new Bentley Luxury car for Rs 4 crore.
The net worth of Shloka Mehta has seen a hike of 23 per cent over the past few years, according to the Finapp report.
Russell Mehta is the managing director of Rosy Blue India, which is a sight-holder of DTC (the diamond trading and distribution arm of De Beers) and a preferred client of Alrosa, the state-owned Russian diamond mining major. DTC has only 76 sight-holders, of which 25 are Indian firms, according to a report in The Telegraph.
It has a retail jewellery chain-Orra-set up in 2004. Orra has around 36 stores across 26 cities. Outside India, Rosy Blue has a presence in UAE, Israel, Belgium, United States, Japan, Hong Kong and China.
