2 CRPF personnel injured in encounter with Naxals

Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured in an encounter with Naxals in Dhamtari in Chhattisgarh on Friday. The encounter broke out between the 211 Battalion and Naxals in forests in Saleghat area.

According to media sources, the commandment of the 211 Battalion was out for patrolling operations. The Naxals starting firing at the battalion and the forces retaliated effectively.

Naxals 2 CRPF personnel injured in encounter with Naxals

The injured jawans were rushed to the military hospital.

More details of the encounter are awaited.

On April 4, four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed and two others were injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh. The encounter broke out in Kankar district.

Based on intelligence reports, 114 battalion of BSF launched a combing drive in the area to search the Naxals hiding in the area. According to media reports, the incident comes just weeks before the Lok Sabha elections in the state. Maoists have already given a call for a boycott of the election.
