At least 20 kids dead as school bus rolls down gorge in Himachal

Atleast 20 school children were killed after a school bus fell into a 200-ft gorge near Nurpur, Himachal Pradesh on Monday afternoon.

The accident happened at about 3.30 pm near Gurchal village on Nurpur-Chamba road, 12 km from Nurpur town, as per sources.

All the deceased children were from Ram Singh Pathania Memorial School located in the area.

The bus was on way to drop the children home after the school closed down at 3 pm. The driver of the bus was among the dead while many children died on the spot.

Many more bodies were still trapped in the mangled remains of the bus.

Sources say, the driver of the bus lost control and the bus skidded into deep gorge.

At Nurpur civil hospital, the parents of deceased children were inconsolable and were finding it hard come to terms with their loss.
