Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu hospitalised in Shimla

Sukhu admitted to hospital: A member of Indian National Congress, a 4-time and incumbent MLA and current Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) in Shimla on Thursday. 

As per the reports, it is to be noted that Sukhu gets admitted in hospital due to a stomach infection. 


As per the statement of doctors, condition of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is stable as of now. 

According to a statement by Dr. Rahul Rao, Senior Medical Superintendent at IGMC Shimla, “The ultrasound report is normal, and all of his medical examinations have returned normal results. Chief Minister Sukhu is under observation at IGMC Shimla, where further examinations are being conducted to ensure his well-being.”

"He is admitted to IGMC and we have kept him under observation and are doing further examinations," he added. 

Meanwhile, several political leaders and people across Himachal Pradesh are extending best wishes to CM Sukhu for his swift and speedy recovery. 

Notably, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is a grassroots politician who has risen from the ranks and has wide organisational experience in the hill state. Sukhu has been in favour of promoting and grooming younger Congress leaders in Himachal Pradesh. Affable and approachable, Sukhu has a wide network in the hill state due to his long years in the organisation.

He is a loyalist of the Gandhi family; Sukhu belongs to a middle-class family. He was active in politics from his student days and fought elections as an NSUI candidate. He was president of NSUI and the Indian Youth Congress in the state.
