BCCI reduces life ban of Sreesanth to seven years, ban will now end in August 2020
In a major relief to the Indian pacer Sreesanth, the BCCI Ombudsman D K Jain has ordered that the alleged spot-fixing ban will end by August 2020. Sreesanth has already served his ban for six years, and therefore, his ban has been reduced to the seven years, which means his ban will end by August 2020.

Justice DK Jain, Ombudsman BCCI on Monday said, "I am of the view that banning Sreesanth from participating in any kind of commercial Cricket or from associating with any activities of BCCI or its affiliates, for a period of 7 yrs with effect from 13.09.2013. "The date from which, the period of the ban imposed by the Disciplinary Committee had commenced, will meet the ends of justice", said Justice DK Jain, Ombudsman BCCI.
Sreesanth was alleged to be paid Rs 10 Lakh during Indian Premier League 2013 Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab. As per reports, the money was given to him for conceding 14 runs in his second over.
