Chandigarh declares new containment zones to contain COVID-19 spread
In an order to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Chandigarh Administration has declared new containment zones.
In a letter signed by UT Adviser Manoj Parida, the Administration has been directed to continue the regular screening and monitoring of the areas by the medical teams.

The Municipal authorities have also been asked to maintain frequent sanitization of the areas announced as the containment zones.

Meanwhile, the residents have been advised to strictly maintain social distancing norms, wear masks, and follow hand hygiene.
According to the media bulletin issued by the Chandigarh Health Department on Wednesday, the total number of coronavirus cases in Chandigarh has increased to 12,820 out of which 182 COVID patients have died while 11,190 have been cured and discharged.
A total of 155 patients were discharged on Wednesday including persons from home isolation who completed 10 days and were asymptomatic.
