Coronavirus: India records more than 3 lakh COVID-19 cases for 2nd consecutive day

Second wave of Coronavirus in India: India on Friday continued to record the world's biggest-ever single-day spike in coronavirus cases and deaths with over 3.32 lakh new COVID-19 cases and 2,263 new deaths in the last 24 hours.

India reported 3,32,730 new COVID-19 cases, 2,263 deaths, and 1,93,279 discharges in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated while giving coronavirus updates about India.

Second wave of Coronavirus in India: India continued to record highest spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths in the last 24 hours.

The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 1,62,63,695 including 1,36,48,159 recoveries, 1,86,920 deaths and 24,28,616 active cases.

A total of 13,54,78,420 people have been administered the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, the government is going to administer the COVID-19 vaccine free of cost to people aged between 18 to 45.

The registration for vaccination against COVID-19 for all persons above 18 will begin on CoWIN platform and Aarogya Setu app from April 28.

Likewise, a record single-day spike of 34,379 coronavirus cases was recorded in Uttar Pradesh, and 195 virus-related deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 10,541.

India is dealing with the second wave of coronavirus. The nation recorded more than 3 lakh new cases on Thursday as well. Several states have been forced to impose strict restrictions amid a deadly wave of coronavirus.
