Shatrughan Sinha says, Jab Miya Biwi Raazi... when asked about Sonakshi Sinha’s interfaith marriage

Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has addressed the conversations surrounding his daughter Sonakshi Sinha and her marriage to Zaheer Iqbal, offering a grounded and supportive perspective.

As per reports, the senior actor made it clear that the couple’s decision was theirs alone to make. He emphasized that when two individuals are certain about their relationship and future together, outside opinions become secondary. 

When asked about the family dynamics, Shatrughan Sinha said, "Bilkul theek thaak hai. Hum bahut khush hai. Sonakshi ki jo shaadi hui hai, made for each other lagte hain dono."

Bachche jawan hai, bachche adults hai. Agar woh khush hai, toh miya-biwi raazi toh kya karega Qazi. Hume unka saath dena chahiye. Wholeheartedly, chattaan ki tarah unke saath ho" - said the veteran star.

He conveyed that a parent’s role is not to impose decisions, but to ensure their child’s happiness and well-being. His stance suggested a sense of trust in his daughter’s judgment and independence.

The marriage drew significant public attention, particularly due to its interfaith nature. As per reports, the actor chose not to engage with criticism or controversy, instead maintaining a calm and composed outlook.

He noted that people often form opinions quickly, especially on personal matters that do not concern them directly. However, he mentioned that such decisions are deeply personal and should be respected.

For the unversed, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married under the Special Marriage Act on 23 June 2024 in presence of their close friends and family at their own apartment in Mumbai.
