IFFD 2026: "Dhurandhar 2 represents New India", says Kangana Ranaut

At the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026, the film Dhurandhar 2 became one of the biggest highlights. Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut shared her thoughts and said the film reflects a “new India” that is confident and ready to shine on the global stage.

She explained that Indian cinema is changing, and films like Dhurandhar 2 show how powerful and bold storytelling has become. According to her, India is now telling its stories in a way that the whole world can notice and appreciate.

"Look, this platform is for such films. This is the picture of New India," she said.

She further added, "In which, culture, patriotism and modernity, the dream of a developed India, you see the pulsating energy of a New India. For this, such platforms should be there. We are very grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, who has given us the dream of a developed India. And we are all moving forward with it."

Kangana also praised the film’s director, Aditya Dhar. She said that directors are the real driving force behind films and deserve much more recognition. In her view, while actors often get most of the spotlight, it is the directors and the team behind the scenes who truly shape a movie.

She added that Aditya Dhar’s success can inspire young people. Instead of only dreaming of becoming actors, many may now feel encouraged to explore filmmaking and direction as a career. She believes this shift is important for the growth of the film industry.

The film, starring Ranveer Singh, has already created a strong buzz and received a lot of appreciation. Its success shows that audiences are enjoying meaningful and well-made cinema.
