The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced the schedule for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2021 in New Zealand. The hosts will be taking on a qualifier in an opening match on February 6, 2021, at Eden Parks, Auckland. The tournament is having 31 games and will be played across the six different venues.

Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Wellington will host the ICC Women’s World Cup 2021. The final will be held in Christchurch on March 7, while the semifinal matches will be held at Tauranga and Hamilton on March 3 and 4, respectively.

Meanwhile, ICC has also announced reserve days for all the three knockout games. The reserve day was not arranged during the T20 World Cup 2020 that witnessed India progress to the final following the abandonment of its semifinal match against England.

Meanwhile, only four teams have been confirmed for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2021 so far. Defending champions England, Australia, South Africa and the hosts New Zealand have been qualified while four more spots are up for the grabs. The remaining teams will be confirmed after the conclusion of the ICC Women's Championship and the qualifying event in Sri Lanka in July.

The ICC said in a statement that "In 2021, New Zealand will take the opportunity to own its moment in the growth of women’s sport and deliver this fantastic global event with our unique Kiwi flavour."
