Marathi playback singer Geeta Mali dies in a road accident

PTC Misha: Marathi playback singer Geeta Mali died in a road accident in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Thursday. The accident took place when Geeta Mali and her husband Vijay were on the Mumbai-Agra highway.

They were heading to Mali's hometown Nashik after their return from the United States when their car rammed into a container parked along the road at around 3pm.

Seriously injured, Geeta and her husband were rushed to Shahpur Rural hospital, where the singer succumbed to her injuries.

Just before the accident, she had posted a selfie on her Facebook page after she landed in Mumbai. She was on a two-month trip to the United States.
