Mohali: Mother's body hanging son in the room for 3 days.

A woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan in front of her seven-year-old son in Phase VII, Mohali.

The boy was staying in the room with his mother’s body hanging for the past three days. The matter came to light when foul smell starting emanating from the house, said the police official.

Jaspinder Kaur, had a dispute with her husband Ranjit Singh, a Lance Naik posted at the Ferozepur Cantonment.

Jaspinder Kaur’s friend Ratanbir Kaur reached the spot after getting information and saw her hanging. She then informed the police officials.

DSP (City II) Vijay Alam and the SHO of the Mataur police station, Sub-Inspector Rajiv Kumar, reached the spot.

Alam said, “The boy is in shock. He used to play outside and then used to sleep in the same room. He is too young to react.”
