Haryana gym owner murder: Two members of Bishnoi gang carrying Rs 1 Lakh bounty killed in encounter
According to police, the two men were wanted in connection with the daylight murder of gym owner Kapil in Hansi on June 11.
PTC News Desk: Two alleged members of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, who were carrying rewards of ₹1 lakh each, were killed in a police encounter during a joint operation by the Delhi Police Special Cell and Haryana Police STF in Bahadurgarh on Saturday.
A Delhi Police constable was also injured during the exchange of fire and is currently undergoing treatment.
According to police, the two men were wanted in connection with the daylight murder of gym owner Kapil in Hansi on June 11. The killing was captured on CCTV footage, and Haryana Police had announced rewards of ₹1 lakh each for information leading to their arrest.
The deceased are identified as Pravesh, resident of Tibba Danasher in Hisar, and Himanshu, son of Sushil Kumar from village Jakhod Khera in Hisar. Both were accused in the sensational murder of Hansi gym owner Kapil on June 11.
Police said they received intelligence that the suspects, who were armed, had arrived in Bahadurgarh and were planning to commit another serious crime. Acting on the information, teams from the Delhi Police Special Cell and Haryana STF located and surrounded them.
Haryana STF SP Vikrant Bhushan said the suspects were asked to surrender but allegedly opened fire on the police team. The officers returned fire in self-defence, leading to a brief gunfight.
During the encounter, both accused were shot and injured. Constable Ankit of the Delhi Police Special Cell's Counter Intelligence unit was also hit in the leg.
All three were taken to a nearby hospital. The injured constable is reported to be out of danger, while doctors declared both suspects dead.
Police have registered a fresh case at Sadar Police Station in Bahadurgarh, and the encounter will be investigated according to legal procedures.
