Neeraj Chopra bags silver at World Athletics Championships 2022

World Athletics Championship 2022: Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra bagged a historic silver medal as he secured an 88.13-meter throw in Men's Javelin final on Sunday.

Neeraj is the second Indian track and field athlete to bag a podium finish, following the legendary long jumper Anju Bobby George, who came third in the 2003 World Championships in Paris. Neeraj is the first Indian track and field athlete to win a medal at the World Championships.

Where Anderson Peters, once again, became the champion, Jakub Vadlejch finished third.

Neeraj Chopra clinches silver medal at Diamond League, breaks own national  record

The Indian Javelin thrower kicked off the proceedings on a disappointing note, registering a foul throw before bettering his second attempt of 82.39m with an 86.37m throw. Neeraj Chopra's 88.13m throw in his fourth attempt. This is, however, still short of his personal best - the Olympic-winning throw of 89.94m.

Neeraj Chopra, though, recorded a foul throw in his fifth try, missing yet another opportunity.
