Nepal bundles out USA for 35 to equal record

Nepal vs United States, ICC World Cup League: Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane emerged as the top wicket-taker with 6 scalps after Nepal defeated USA by 8 wickets in the joint-lowest ODI match on Wednesday. The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match witnessed history being scripted by Nepal at Kirtipur. Nepal restricted USA for a joint-lowest ODI score of 35.

While batting first, USA only managed to stay around for 12 overs with opener Xavier Marshall being the top-scorer with an innings of 16 runs. Nine batsmen were not able to cross single digit. Lamichhance dismissed Ian Holland, Monank Patel, Nisarg Patel, Akshay Homraj, Timil Patel and Nosthush Kenjige. Along with him, Sushan Bhari bagged four wickets by giving away just 5 runs.

While chasing, Nepal lost two early wickets as openers Gyanendra Malla and Subash Khakurel were dismissed for 1 and 0 runs, respectively. Afterwards, Paras Khadka and Dipendra Singh Airee finished the match as they scored 20 and 15 runs, respectively. The lowest-total record in an ODI match was previously held by Zimbabwe - as it was bowled out for 35 by Sri Lanka in 2004.
