Polls to Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana will be held by December 15. This was stated by CEC OP Rawat here on Saturday.

The poll code in these states would be enforced with immediate effect, he said.

Earlier, there was a controversy after the Election Commission postponed its scheduled press conference to announce the election dates.

The Congress alleged that the EC postponed the presser to facilitate PM Narendra Modi’s rally in Rajasthan. Whereas the commission denied the allegation as baseless.
