PTC Web Desk:  Security agencies across Punjab were put on high alert on Thursday after bomb threats were reported at multiple court complexes, including Mansa, Moga, Ferozepur, Rupnagar (Ropar) and Anandpur Sahib, forcing authorities to evacuate premises and suspend court proceedings.

In the latest incident, the Mansa district court received a serious bomb threat via email sent to the official email address of the District and Sessions Judge. According to sources, unidentified persons claimed that three RDX-based explosive devices had been planted inside the court complex and could be detonated using a remote control. Following the threat, immediate orders were issued to evacuate the entire court premises.

Police and administrative officials rushed to the spot, and security agencies began a thorough search of the court complex.

Earlier, in Ferozepur, the district administration closed all entry and exit gates of the court complex after receiving information about a possible bomb threat. Lawyers, court staff and visitors were asked to vacate the premises, and the court was ordered to remain closed till 1 pm as a precautionary measure.

A similar situation was reported in Moga, where the district court was allegedly threatened with a bomb blast. Panic gripped the area as the court complex and adjoining buildings were evacuated. Dog squads and bomb detection teams were deployed, while senior police officials, including District Police Chief Ajay Gandhi, reached the spot to oversee security arrangements.

Meanwhile, the Rupnagar (Ropar) Judicial Complex was evacuated after authorities received a threatening email warning of a bomb inside the court building. Court proceedings were immediately halted. SSP Gulneet Khurana confirmed that investigations have been initiated to assess the credibility of the threat and trace its origin.

As a precaution, the Anandpur Sahib court complex was also vacated. Bomb disposal squads and security teams carried out extensive searches in and around the premises. No suspicious object has been recovered so far from any of the locations.

Officials noted that courts and other public institutions in Punjab have received similar threats in the past, many of which later turned out to be hoaxes. Cyber teams are actively working to identify the source of the emails. Further details are awaited.
