Jalandhar accident: Three killed, three injured as car crashes into tree, vendor on Jalandhar-Pathankot National Highway
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle crashed into a tree and then hit a local vendor standing beside his cart.
PTC News Desk: In a tragic road accident, three people were killed, while three others were injured near the Cholang Toll Plaza on the Jalandhar-Pathankot National Highway in the afternoon.
The accident took place at around 2:20 pm when the Fronx car, bearing registration number JK01BC8358, was travelling from Jalandhar towards Pathankot. Near the Cholang Toll Plaza, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle crashed into a tree and then hit a local vendor standing beside his cart.
The deceased have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh (50), a resident of Chak Shakoor, Ikhlaq Qadir, and Aneek Amin.
The impact of the crash was so severe that the cart vendor and two people travelling in the car died on the spot while the vehicle was badly damaged.
Soon after receiving information about the accident at around 2:20 pm, police and highway patrol teams reached the spot and started rescue operations. The injured were given first aid and later taken to Civil Hospital, Tanda, where they are undergoing treatment.
Police seize vehicle and belongings
Police collected the belongings of the victims from the accident site and handed them over to Bhogpur police station. The items included seven kit bags, including one laptop, three wallets containing Rs 4,400 in cash and cards, one wristwatch, two mobile phones and two mobile chargers.
The damaged vehicle has been seized, and legal action has been initiated. The families of the deceased have also been informed.
