Punjabi singer firing: Three arrested in firing at Gulab Sidhus ancestral house in Barnala

PTC News Desk: Barnala Police have arrested three people allegedly involved in the firing at Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu’s house. According to police sources, the three accused are from different parts of Punjab and had arrived on a motorcycle on the night of the incident.

The incident took place between 1:30 am and 2 am on the intervening night of September 12 and 13 at Sidhu’s ancestral home in Farwahi village.

The attackers reportedly stopped their motorcycle outside the house. The man sitting in the middle allegedly loaded a pistol and opened fire, while the person sitting behind him also fired shots. The third man, who was riding the motorcycle, recorded the incident.

The video reportedly shows three men approaching the house on a motorcycle. Gulab Sidhu was not at home when the firing took place.

On January 10, 2026, Barnala Police had arrested three people for allegedly plotting an attack on Gulab Sidhu. The alleged main conspirator was Baljinder Singh, also known as Kinda, the sarpanch of Kotduna village.

According to police, he was upset over the lyrics of Sidhu’s song Sarpanchiyan and had also allegedly threatened the singer on social media. The accused reportedly planned to attack Sidhu during a live show.

Police had said the alleged plan was aimed at creating fear in Punjab and later demanding ransom.

Gulab Sidhu was a close friend of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Following Moosewala’s murder in May 2022, the security of several Punjabi singers was reviewed.

Sidhu had reportedly been receiving repeated ransom calls and death threats for some time. Based on these threats and security inputs, Punjab Police provided him with two security personnel who remain deployed for his protection.
