Indian cricket team gets new coach

Ravi Shastri has become the new head coach of Indian Cricket Team. He will take charge in the upcoming Test series that will start on 26 July.

Ravi Shastri is selected by the CAC of Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI). The committee included veteran Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.

Ravi Shastri, 55, applied for the post when BCCI extended the application deadline till 9 July.

Previous head coach, Anil Kumble resigned from the post due to misunderstandings between him and Captain Virat Kohli.

Additionally, Taking into consideration the compatibility level and equation with the team and Captain Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble was the hot favorite of the selection committee.
