SGPC shut down office in solidarity with the Afghan Attack victims

Officials of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee paid tribute to the Sikhs who died in the terrorist attack in Afghanistan. The office of the SGPC was shut down in solidarity with the Afghan Attack victims.

'Mool Mantar Path' was recited in the Teja Singh Samundri Hall in Amritsar while Bhai Sultan Singh prayed for the departed souls.

In this condolence ceremony, the Chief Secretary of the SGPC, Dr. Roop Singh, Secretary Manjit Singh Bath, Additional Secretary Diljit Singh Bedi, S. Balwinder Singh, Jogar Singh, S. Mohinder Singh Ahli, Sukhdev Singh Bhaur were present along with other officials of SGPC. 

SGPC Chief Secretary Dr. Roop Singh said that on the orders of Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, the SGPC office has been closed for the day.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president GS Longowal on Monday called the 'barbaric' suicide bombing in Afghanistan's Jalalabad city, a 'deliberate' attack.

"It was a deliberate attack. It's duty of the respective government to ensure the safety of people."

He also requested the Centre to talk to Afghanistan government and ensure death penalty for people responsible.

The suicide bombing in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan claimed lives of 19 people, including 11 Sikhs and injured 20 others on Sunday.
