Breaking News: Youth Olympic Games:Suraj Panwar wins silver for India

India extended its medal winning spree to track and field events of the 3rd Youth Olympic Games by winning a silver medal in  5000 m walk race for men on Monday. Walker Suraj Panwar gave India its 11th medal of the Games by finishing second to Oscar Patin of Ecuador.

Suraj Panwar won India's eighth silver medal by clocking 40:39.17 minutes. Though he won the second and final lap of the race but his overall timing put him behind Oscar Patin.

Jon Mosaka of Puerto Rico got the bronze medal in the event.

The silver medal won by Suraj Panwar was India's first medal in track and field events of the games.

India has already won three gold and eight silver medals in the Games so far.
