Tour of Malaysia: Indian girls win series with a solitary goal win in the fourth Test

India took a comfortable and unbeatable 3-0 lead over Malaysia in the five Test series with a solitary goal win in the fourth game at Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. the fifth and last game will be played tomorrow.

The all important goal was scored by mercurial Lalremsiami in the 55th minute after the two teams played three goalless quarters.

The third Test had ended in a 4-4 draw after India won the first two Test matches 3-0 and 5-0.

Taking the field with all reserve players, India did experiment with some combinations, both in defence and the offence line but did not get the desired results. On the other hand, the home team, putting up a much better improved play did try to match their more experienced opponents in every department of the game.

Holding the visitors goalless for three quarters was a no mean achievement. Had it not been for the sparkle and quick reflection action on the part of Lalremsiami, the match could have ended in a draw.

India is preparing its team for the Olympic qualifier and rested some senior players, including skipper Rani Rampal, for this tour. Instead the team management wanted to test some youngsters on the tour.
