Gurugram road rage: Man threatens biker with pistol after minor collision, flees before police arrive
Based on biker’s complaint, Gurugram police registers FIR against driver of MG Hector
PTC Web Desk: A minor road rage incident escalated into a serious criminal offence in Gurugram when a car occupant allegedly pointed a pistol at a biker and threatened to kill him after a brief collision.
The incident took place in broad daylight near the Dak khana Chowk area of Gurugram’s Cyber City. According to the police complaint, the biker was travelling from Manesar towards Gurugram after finishing work when the side mirror of an MG Hector brushed against his motorcycle. When the biker objected to the rash driving, the situation took a dramatic turn.
The car occupant allegedly stepped out of the vehicle, retrieved a pistol from a bag placed on the rear seat and threatened the biker with dire consequences. Despite the firearm being brandished, the biker did not panic. Meanwhile, the gathering crowd alerted the police, which soon reached the spot.
However, the accused, described as brazen and lawless, fled the scene at high speed in front of the police before he could be detained.
Videos recorded by local residents and CCTV footage from the area have since surfaced on social media and are being widely shared. The footage clearly captures the MG Hector bearing registration number HR26EP0708, along with the alleged act.
Based on the biker’s complaint, the Gurugram police have registered an FIR against the driver of the MG Hector and initiated an investigation. Preliminary inquiries have identified the vehicle owner as Amit Sagar.
Police officials said CCTV footage from nearby locations is being examined to trace the accused and further action will be taken as per law.
