Missing Kashmiri soldier: Rifleman Javed Ahmad, a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry regiment, has gone missing in Kulgam district, south Kashmir. The 25-year-old soldier had returned home on leave to celebrate Eid with his family and was expected to resume duty the following day.

On the evening of the incident, around 6:30 pm, Javed Ahmad left his home to buy some items from the market. He was driving an Alto car at the time. As the hours passed and he did not return home by 9 pm, his family members became concerned and initiated a search. His car was eventually found near the market, and there were reports of bloodstains inside it.

Kashmir police promptly registered a case and detained several suspects for investigation. Meanwhile, security forces launched a massive search operation to locate the missing soldier.

Amidst growing apprehension, the soldier's family fears he may have been kidnapped by terrorists. They released a video statement appealing for his safe return. In the emotional plea, the soldier's grieving mother begged for her son's release, expressing her willingness to keep him away from the Army if it meant securing his safety.

Mohammad Ayub Wani, Javed Ahmad's father, disclosed that his son was stationed in Ladakh and had come home to spend time with the family after celebrating Eid. Tragically, it seems that during his routine outing to the market, he encountered individuals who allegedly kidnapped him. In an earnest plea to his captors, the father implored them to release his son unharmed.

The region has witnessed similar incidents in the past, with soldiers on leave falling victim to abductions and killings by terrorists. The situation remains tense as security forces and the soldier's family await any news or leads that could lead to his safe return.
