Amid the same, a video is doing rounds on social media that has captured everyone's attention not because of Ganpatti Bappa but his companion and it's not mushak.

In the viral video clip, a cat is shown resting on the arms of Lord Ganesha, looking completely calm and at ease, leaving viewers delighted and calling it one of the sweetest highlights of the festival.

The video shows Lord Ganesha beautifully donned in a yellow atire with a red turban traditionally decorated with headbands. However what caught netizens' eye was how peacefully the cat was sleeping on idol's arm.

The sight has left netizens amazed with many calling it one of the most unique sights, while others added humour by joking that the mouse must be feeling a little insecure.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Bro is in safe hands."

Another shared, “Undir mama feeling UNSECURED."

“Bro said, ‘You always keep a mouse near you, today it’s my turn’," a comment read.

The Story Of Mushak

Once, Indra, the king of the gods, entrusted a task to Krauncha, a talented gandharva. Eager to fulfill the command, Krauncha hurried forward but accidentally stepped on the foot of Sage Vamadeva in his haste. Offended by this act, the sage cursed him to lose his divine form and be reborn as a rodent.

Bound by the curse, Krauncha transformed into a gigantic mouse. With his enormous size and strength, he wreaked havoc—destroying fields, consuming crops, attacking animals, and terrorizing entire villages. During one such rampage, he crossed paths with Sage Parashar, in whose presence Lord Ganesha happened to be.

Seeing the devastation, Ganesha confronted the monstrous mouse. A fierce battle ensued, and Ganesha ultimately subdued Krauncha. Humbled and remorseful, the former gandharva begged for forgiveness. Moved by his surrender, Ganesha showed mercy and accepted him. From that moment on, the cursed mouse became Mushak, the devoted vahana (vehicle) and constant companion of Lord Ganesha.
