Asia Cup 2022: Virat Kohli calls Suryakumar's knock special, bows down in a sweet gesture
Dubai (UAE), September 1: Virat Kohli on Wednesday hailed star batter Suryakumar Yadav, for a "special knock" against Hong Kong in the ongoing Asia Cup.
Suryakumar Yadav's brilliant 68* and Virat Kohli's 59* helped India overcome Hong Kong by 40 runs here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, securing a spot in the Super Four round of the Asia Cup 2022. Following Suryakumar's stunning knock, Kohli made a touching gesture by bowing down to the batter after the innings and encouraged the stadium's fans to cheer for him.
Following India's victory, Kohli thanked Suryakumar once more, posting a photo with 'SKY' on the homegrown social media platform Koo app.
"Good win today. A special knock by SKY. We'll keep going," Kohli said.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar was flabbergasted by Kohli's 'heartwarming ' gesture.
"It was a very heartwarming gesture. I never saw something like that. I was looking at him and I was like, "why isn't he going ahead?" Then I came to him and urged him to walk together. He is so experienced," Suryakumar added.

India opener KL Rahul struck 36 off 39 balls, but his two flawless sixes showed that he is in good form right now.
India outplayed Hong Kong in every aspect, becoming the second team to qualify for the Super Four.
Today's Group B match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will determine who advances to the Super Four stage.
On Friday, Pakistan and Hong Kong will meet for a similar scenario. The Asia Cup 2022 super Four round will begin on Saturday.
