Thousands of people bid adieu to Baba Labh Singh Ji, watch video

Baba Lai Singh Ji cremation: Last rites of Sant Baba Labh Singh, Chief organizer of Gurdwara Anandgarh Sahib, who passed away after a cardiac arrest at a hospital in Sri Anadpur Sahib, were conducted at Kiratpur Sahib on Tuesday. He was admitted to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Multiplex Hospital, where he took his last breath at the age of 96.  Dr Palwinder Jit Singh Kang confirmed the details.

Sant Baba Labh Singh was known for the extensive public and community service work he had been engaged in for decades. He got seven bridges constructed in Punjab and Haryana, which earned for him the title of, “Pullan Wala Baba.” Last year, he contributed generously to the construction of a 600-ft bridge on the Satluj river.


Besides, he was involved in the construction of six more bridges. Five of these are located on the Satluj, near Anandpur Sahib and one on the Ghaggar river in Haryana. Other than that, he constructed 29 schools and a number of colleges. He also used to run a Langar at the Gurdwara of PGIMER, Chandigarh, where the needy were provided with quality food and lodging. Sant Baba Labh Singh did not always get government aid. But that did not stop him from undertaking public welfare work. This endeared him to thousands, who mourned his passing by gathering in front of the hospital as soon as they heard the news.
